Should you ever find yourself up here in the North East, make sure you plan a little detour to this corner!
Up in the Yorkshire Dales, in the small market town of Masham (pronounced Massam - that tripped me up at first!) is one of the most fabulous and loveliest independent shops you could hope to find. I found the shop a few years ago or so having first made contact with Alison on Instagram - you know, when social media really is a force for good.
The building the shop is in used to be a bank, but Alison had the right idea and eye to completely transform it into an unrecognisable gem of a cosy, creative interior bursting with salvaged one-off pieces and vintage finds alongside beautiful French linens, amazing pottery and the most tasteful range of everyday household items.
